First of all, THANK YOU for taking your time to reading this post… I’m a new at blogging, but I promise I will make an effort to make sure every post is worth reading.
Since I made the decision to start this blog, I found myself in a dilema: should this be a casual blog where I share things from my honest point of view or should I be more professional and write more serious articles about Playa del Carmen without my personal touch? Hmmm…
Well, I decided to keep this blog casual. So, let’s start this blog post by telling you a bit about Renting Playa’s founder (me!) and how it all started.
My name is Elizabeth Aceves. I am in my mid-30’s. Below is a decent photo of me (I don’t look that pretty in person 99% of the time). I am Mexican, so I apologize if at times my English is a bit funny… I am an introvert who loves to hide behind my computer replying your emails, and coordinating checkins, checkouts, etc. My main hobbie is to keep learning new things, so right now I am in progress of becoming an amazing Real Estate Agent in Playa del Carmen as well as learning to invest in the stock market. So, if any of you has curiosity on what you would need to do in order to own a property in Playa del Carmen, feel free to email me or simply enter your email at: www.homeawayplaya.com and you will receive an email with the main inforormation.
Renting Playa was born thanks to my dear friend and famous Travel Blogger: Derek Baron (www.WanderingEarl.com). Back in the days I helped him out finding good rentals (just me helping him). Then, his blog became popular and people started contacting him about accommodation in Playa del Carmen, so he referred me to some other people… and so it all begun. I started receiving more and more inquiries thanks to the word of mouth of my “customers”… and then, without knowing, more people started writing about my services in other travel blogs… Long story short, I quit my job and decided to work full time on helping foreigners finding rentals at decent prices.
A couple of years later, I was introduced to an amazing couple called Jason and Deidre Mize (www.awolamericans.com). I found them a rental, we became friends, and then they invited me to take part on the American TV Show called House Hunters International! Which created even more credibility among my customers (for those who are curious it was Season 66, Episode 3 hahaha).
Anyway… this is just a sneak peak of all the magic things that have happened since it all got started. After that people started recommending my services to property owners, and I started doing Property Management in Playa del Carmen as well.
I am simply very thankful to every customer that has taken the time to recommend our services by word of mouth or by writing an article about us (now there’s a small team of wonderful people helping me out).
My goal is to keep offering prices that are fair to my guests and also fair to the owners that trust on me.
Let’s keep creating win/win situations!
This is it for now…!
